Advertised ointment Chamberlain's Salve claimed to cure eczema totter and salt rheum with instant relief from intense itching. The text asserted many agree cases were cured by it or sold by all druggists.
A December roundup of brief items notes a Lancaster County case where Mrs. Jacob Souders of Rheems tracked sparrows with a mouse trap, jury actions in a Klos Mn case, and a series of accidents and oddities from Pennsylvanian towns including Potlavile and Shamokin. New York dispatch reports a surge of departing aliens to Europe, with four liners today carrying 8,000 immigrants, mostly Italians. Steamship authorities foresee peak departures this week, raising total departures to about 500,000 so far this year, far above last year’s pace.
