Chronic Respiratory Disease Deaths Rise, Figures Show

Chronic RD directly caused over 16,000 deaths in 1955 and contributed to about 26,600 others. By 1963 direct deaths reached an estimated 30,900 with around 49,500 additional contributory deaths. The figures, from the U.S. Public Health Service, are linked to Christmas Seal fundraising.

Wallace leaves 840000 estate in will and advice

Former vice president Henry A. Wallace died at 77 in South Salem New York leaving a will of 840000 in real and personal property. He directed stocks from Pioneer and Say companies be given to relatives including sons Robert and Henry B. Wallace and daughter Jean W. Douglas. The will filed for probate cites gifts to his descendants and notes continued wealth in coin ventures in Illinois Indiana.
