Fire at Mutual Ice Company nets heavy Erie losses

Erie Pa December 8 Fire of unknown origin swept the Mutual Ice Company plant at the harbor front last night causing an estimated loss over 160000. The blaze began in the west end and, driven by a strong wind, turned the building into a roaring furnace. Sparks blew for blocks igniting a house over a block away. Four firefighters were injured two of them sustaining broken legs.

New Bethlehem Man Dies In Train Crossing Crash

Frank McEwan a well known New Bethlehem resident died when a coupe collided with a train at a crossing. He was in hardware and motor sales, had farm machinery ties, born in Sligo and survived by a widow and son Harry of New Bethlehem. Bill to abolish Navy and War Departments proposed
