Local Pumping Engine Wrecked In Ernest Collision
An Ernest woman was injured slightly when a Indiana Fire Department pumper crashed into her car at the Eighth and Water streets intersection yesterday afternoon. The 60 gallon Amerian LaFrance pumper, driven by Fireman Ed wards, was en route to an alarm when it struck Mrs Zellman who did not stop for the approaching siren. The truck sustained major damage estimated at 1800 dollars. several firemen were unharmed. Mrs Zellman received bruises and shock but was not seriously hurt after examination. Fire officials noted the borough’s old pumper would likely be replaced by a new unit as a result of the crash.
