In Washington Pennsylvania, December 7, John Whitaker, 65, of McDonald, read as his three year old son Charles entered the room and said Goodby dad I'm going. The child then took a bottle containing carbide acid and drank, dying within minutes. The father collapsed from shock and was left in critical condition.
The body of William H. Depoport, a New York agent, was found near Sndwabitt Hall. Officials guess weather exposure or a fall from a wagon led to death. about $2 was found on him. He was seventy five. No wounds noted. Chamber's Cough Remedy advert appears nearby.

Washington December 7 Senator La Follette refused White House talks on Supreme Court appointments, sending a cautionary letter instead. President Taft sought discussions with insurgent Republicans including Cummins, as he weighs nominees and seeks enough support. The president announced diplomatic nominations and urged House rules reform amid tariff and conservation debates.
In Sprivefield Ohio on December 7 magician Arthur Love, an impersonator and hypnotist, announced he has left show business to follow Jesus after a conscience crisis. He sent notices to booked houses stating he will not perform on any date and will now use his talent for religious work. Earlier Akron announced an $86,000 goal toward a $300,000 Buchtel College endowment. In Warren Ohio, 30 railroad laborers were injured in a collision between a freight train and a work train eight miles south of Warren on December 7.
