Teen drives car onto Times Square sidewalk killing pedestrian
A 19 year old man stole a car at gunpoint and roared along 42nd Street striking pedestrians. One man, R A Whitmore 72, died and 12 others injured while witnesses described bodies flying through the air. The couple owners Jerry and Marlene Jenkins honeymooning in the city. the driver Harvey Collins was charged with vehicular homicide and other counts. Six ambulances transported victims to Bellevue St. Clare's and Roosevelt hospitals.
