Robert Young Becomes Intermediary in Coal Talks

Robert R. Young head of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad acted as intermediary in the soft coal dispute. He met with two operators' reps at Lexington Avenue and then with United Mine Workers officials, with John L. Lewis possibly joining later. The spokesman said 70 percent of C and O business relates to coal and the railroad aims to resume operations amid scheduled hard coal contract talks.

Homer City Council Approves Ten Street Lights

Indiana man arrested as night walker in alleged incident

A 24 year old Indiana man Arthur Lower was arrested after approaching a 19 year old girl at Philadelphia and Fifth streets asking to take her home. The father intervened and Lower was fined five dollars plus costs at a local hearing on a night walking charge. Police said no harm was intended.
