Four Persons Left Homeless By Blaze
A Friday afternoon fire gutted a two story frame house at 815 Fairview Avenue in Indiana Chevy Chase, leaving Ella Clemons, daughter Juanita Jones, son-in-law Roy Jones, and their four year old son Dakar homeless. Fire chief Jack Woodburn suspects an upstairs bedroom wall as the start, possibly electrical. The home is a total loss with smoke and water damage to the first floor. Red Cross provided emergency aid and the family planned to stay with relatives.

Los Angeles AP report states Bill Haley and the Comets were ordered to pay their former manager Sandra Shekel Hart $240,000.
