Trial For Man Who Killed 3 Opens In Luzerne County
Charles E Rovinsky 23 will be tried by Luzerne County Criminal Court for the fatal shootings of his wife Martha, father-in-law Andrew Stoka and brother-in-law George Tampko. The term begins Sept 24 following grand jury indictment on three counts of murder and manslaughter. Rovinsky, a Navy veteran, was arrested in California a month after the March 14 incident outside his Ashley home.

Polish Refugee Queen to Lead New York State Fair
Syracuse reports Mary Suszynska a 17 year old Polish refugee will be the queen of the 1951 State Fair. From Weedsport she was chosen among 30 contestants to reign over the 105th Agricultural and Industrial exposition opening Saturday. She and a companion will receive a six day expense paid Bermuda trip after the fair.

Train collision and fire kill two in Buenos Aires region
A passenger train halted to fight a dining car fire when another train struck it in Buenos Aires province. Two people died and 16 were injured as the fire spread to sleeping coaches before being extinguished.
