Diamonds Returned to Dutch After Nazi Theft Recovery
A convoy of American troops delivered 17 000 carats worth 2 500 000 in diamonds looted from Dutch merchants by the Nazis. Serious injuries in Uniontown crash near Route 40
Jack Franklin of Salisbury remained in serious condition at Uniontown Hospital after a wreck on Route 40 near Top Wood. A pickup driven by Franklin lost control, struck a car, careened into a truck, struck a home, then crashed into a tree.

16 Year Old Bride and Father-In-Law Shot in Illinois Tragedy
In Shelbyville Illinois a 16 year old bride Mrs Jacquelin Helton and her father in law were shot and killed at a roller rink. The bride’s brother Walter Krearen 12 was wounded and later died. Donald Helton 22, the groom, implicated by witnesses, was hunted after authorities found his jeep abandoned near a machine shop. Donald and his mother were wounded in a subsequent Farm home shooting where the elder Helton was found dead and Mrs Florence Helton suffered gunshot injuries. State Patrol and deputies pursued the suspect through the night. another fatal shooting of Donald occurred at the farm after a long chase.
