STATE COLLEGE Aug 28 two hundred and one seniors were graduated in the first summer commencement in Penn State history. President Ralph D Hetzel said the class aided the war effort by contributing 33000 man days to armed forces and war factories and estimated 235000 man days before year end. Baccalaureate arts and sciences degrees went to 117. 84 advanced degrees. 11 earned honors. Alderman Daniel Edward Dunmire, 69, former state commander of the United Spanish American War Veterans, died at his Greensburg home after recent treatment at Aspinwall Veterans Hospital. A retired Pennsylvania Railroad and H. C. Frick Co. employee, he served in Company 1, 10th Infantry during the Spanish American War and in the Philippines.

Auto Crash Near Shamokin Injures Teen Girl
An 18 year old Trevorton girl, Margaret Alexander, was hospitalized in Shamokin with a possible skull fracture after a late night auto crash nine miles west of Shamokin on the Trevorton Shamokin road. Drivers Harry M. Garman, 18, of Harrisburg and Bruce Stroehecker, 22, of Halifax, Pa, reported injuries. Stroehecker had minor injuries. Victims were returning from a roller skating rink in Herndon.
