Black Lick farmer killed in tractor accident near Blairsville

William Roy Stuchell a 67 year old Black Lick area farmer died when his tractor rolled back and ran over him on his farm. His grandson Robert Cochran saw the stalled tractor and found him about 3:30 pm. Survived by wife Ver Ackerson Stuchell and many children and grandchildren. Funeral set for Sunday at 2 pm at Shoemaker Funeral Home with burial in Blairsville Cemetery.

Miner Kills Wife Then Self After Imprisoning Teens

Morgantown West Virginia AP A coal miner Lewis Hinton 38 shot his wife Joan 26 in the Westover home across the Monongahela River. After locking two teenage babysitters Mary Shank 14 and Mary Williams 15 in a closet for more than six hours, Hinton killed himself with a .22 caliber pistol. Coroner Joseph Greco ruled murder suicide. The victims were found by the babysitters who fled to a neighbor.

Lumumba calls UN out as Belgian pull ends

Premier Patrice Lumumba, after a Monday bid to revise UN Congo operations, urged the UN to withdraw when Belgian troops depart. He warned the UN force should leave as Belgian soldiers exit, saying Congo will keep order with its own troops and police. Judge Rejects Release Plea By Goldfine

Boston textile magnate Bernard Goldfine asked by letter to U.S. Judge Charles E. Wyzanski Jr. for release from Danbury Federal Prison. The plea was denied. Goldfine, 70, is serving 90 days for contempt of court begun July 5, with an expected parole date October 2. He cited health problems and urged a return to his family, but the judge stated no alteration to the sentence.
