Gypsy arrest in Indiana over blessed money scheme
In Indiana three miles north of Reading, Rosie Marks and others from New York State Gypsies were jailed after arrest by local police for a scheme allegedly blessing fifty $20 bills and defrauding Mrs. Joe Bruno of West Philadelphia. Theodore and Ruby Stevings linked to the plan were later rounded up near Latrobe and brought back. The case, involving staged money and alleged blessings, heads to a hearing with Attorney E. E. Creps representing suspects.

Paths of Love and Theft End in Jail
A 14 year old girl Olga Machalyk and her 26 year old companion Joseph Douceaur were arrested in a Northside hotel on a $2,800 theft from the girl's mother Mary Machalyk. The money, hidden in a pillow, included $50 and $100 bills. The pair admitted taking the funds a week earlier and splurged on a new car and jewelry before returning part of the money.
