Harrisburg Aug. 26. A general reduction in premium rates for workmen's compensation insurance in Pennsylvania is forecast for 1919. Rates may drop about 1 percent for most employers, coal operators excluded. A meeting of licensed insurers will likely be held in October to present complete data. Downey of the State Insurance Department cites 1916 1917 underwriting profits totaling over 1.6 million dollars as a basis for the proposed cut. Fire Prevention Day in Pennsylvania has been moved from Oct. 9 to Nov. 2 per Secretary McAdoo's guidance.

Embezzler Surrenders After Year on Run

BH R Joyner, a life insurance agent with no fixed address, surrendered to Chief of Police Wetzel. He confessed taking $100 from Northwestern Mutual in Waynesboro and $200 from Commercial Guarantee Insurance of Pittsburgh. He will be held while insurers decide on action. Joyner fled Pittsburgh nearly a year ago.
