A Penn View Mountain crash injured Jack Elder of Grand Junction Colorado when brakes failed on his combination crane and drill rig around 1 15 p m yesterday. Elder sustained scalp, arm and wrist lacerations a fractured nose and head injuries. A second two vehicle collision occurred at Route 122 and Legislative Route A046 near the Indiana Borough line.
Western nationals including Americans are affected by a Communist order freezing exit permits for foreigners in East Berlin and East Germany. U S Army troops briefly crossed into East Berlin as sightseers after border delays, with a French car turning back amid similar checks. Western missions compare lists of nationals to assess who remains trapped or delayed.
Blairsville Fire Company is ordered to use a helicopter for rescue and search work. Industrialist James J. Shearer purchased the craft to aid county travel, with the rotorcraft arriving Friday for use alongside the town's firefighting and fundraising efforts. The helicopter costs about 75,400 dollars, a device once common only in large city departments.

The royalties dividends and capital gains levy was not included.

Harrisburg AP reports the State Milk Control Commission issued a tentative order setting first discount prices for gallon milk sold in Western Pennsylvania. The plan would take effect in September with hearings in October in Pittsburgh, dialing back store and home delivered prices and adjusting per quart and per hundredweight rates across the Western Pennsylvania marketing area.
