An adjourned Indiana Borough Council meeting approved a paving ordinance for North Fourth and South Seventh streets. The project, estimated at about $48,000, will be financed by $13,000 from assessments, $9,000 county, $10,000 borough funds, and the rest via short term notes repaid from next year's taxes. Frank Hile was named borough weighmaster for the Fourth ward. J. M. Wachob, who served years, was fatally injured by a train last week.

Greensburg, Pa. Aug. 22. Authorities report a shortage of nearly $100,000 in the accounts of John B. Tracy, a prominent local businessman missing for two weeks. The district attorney will seek indictments for embezzlement and defalcation when the county grand jury convenes. Investigators found no clues to Tracy’s whereabouts after he vanished amid tangled finances. Much of the missing money involved client mortgages and about $21,000 in insurance premiums. Tracy, a realty and insurance operator, was active in several clubs and boards.
