Wilmer Stewart makes a Pittsburgh business trip with his Chevrolet, returns via the Kittanning Fair. Miss Fredericka Brett returns home to North Side Pittsburgh after two weeks with Miss Johe Earl. Dr Charles Stewart of Millvale suffers a typhoid fever attack as his parents Mr and Mrs J N Stewart of 8 Fifth street receive word. Mrs Alice Fry, living with her daughter Mrs Orren Stetfy, goes to Akron Ohio to spend the coming fall and winter with another daughter Mrs J D Sawers. Dr P O Emerson and Rev W G Moat leave Indiana in his auto for Kittanning to attend closing day of the fair and visit Armstrong county friends.
Funeral services for Joseph Falcon will be held at his residence on East Olive Street Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Dr. Lewis Hay pastor of the Lutheran church will conduct. Interment follows in Oakland cemetery. Indiana Voot No. 2e Grand Army of the Republic will oversee services at the grave.

In the will of William H. Lydick late of Washington township he leaves to his widow Sarah J. Lydick the home near Creekside with all woods and personal property except certain pictures and the interest on 1500 dollars. To his daughter Ida B. Mahan he leaves a farm in Washington township and names her executrix of the will dated April 1911.

The White Star liner Arabic was torpedoed without warning at 9 11 am Thursday fifty five miles off Old Head of Kinsale Ireland on a return voyage to New York. Four hundred twenty three aboard included 180 passengers and 243 crew. Thirty two lives were lost among passengers and twenty seven among crew with 176 passengers and 216 crew saved. Reports emphasize crews’ efficiency in loading sixteen lifeboats and lowering them before the ship sank in eleven minutes. American presence noted with about thirty five aboard. some Americans among crew and fifteen passengers confirmed. The disaster prompted rapid cable exchange between White Star offices in London and New York as lists of passengers and survivors were compiled.
Washington reports from Queenstown indicate the Arabic was torpedoed without warning and sank rapidly. Twenty one boats were lowered and rescued. several others were empty. Homestead police ask for help locating 40 year old Joseph Heckman of McKeesport missing since Tuesday night. He was last seen near a gas well on the outskirts of Homestead and may be in distress.
Soldiers in the Third regiment of Kentucky militia mistook bee stings for shell hits during a clash at BunkWarbor. The First and Second regiments attacked. automotives from Louisville reached the front early, causing confusion. Hospital corps later confirmed the wounds were bee stings, not artillery.
