Edward B Bennett 71 longtime Indiana banker and contractor and former state senator died at his Vinegar Hill home after a yearlong illness. He presided as president of First National Bank of Indiana for 27 years and led M Bennett & Sons since 1904. He served in the Senate 1933 to 1937 and helped bring the State Highways Department office to Indiana. Funeral services set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Hill Funeral Home with interment in Oakland Cemetery.
