American Union Expands Through Consolidated merger

Harrisburg reports that the American Union Telephone Company absorbs the Consolidated Telephone Companies based in Allentown. The deal creates a system with 234 exchanges and 65,000 subscribers across Pennsylvania and into Ohio Maryland Virginia West Virginia New York New Jersey and Delaware. The merger pools 80 percent of Pennsylvania under one management. The Consolidated executives include Eliza Orvis as president F D Houck as vice president and S R Caldwell as secretary treasurer. The combined group totals 25 million in stock and 25 million in bonds and is not a merger of competing lines.

Ten Per Cent on State Wild Animal Bounties
