New York August 12 UP Jack iL ye Diamond received a four year sentence in Atlanta for conspiracy to violate the narcotics act and possession. He was fined $8000 and two years more for the Green county rum running case. Judge Hopkins of Kansas City presided and urged full penalties for violators to uphold government.

Two Injured In Motorcycle Crash At Armagh
Two men were injured when their motorcycle collided with a Vance motor truck at the William Penn Highway and Route 56 intersection in Armagh. John Palos, 21, of Clarion, a Pittsburgh Athletic Club employee, and Joseph Dovichi, 34, of Johnstown, were taken to Memorial Hospital and Lee Hospital respectively in critical condition with head and body injuries. Police credit first aid at the scene and transport by Clark's ambulance. driver of the truck was not identified.

Lee Tire Truck Crashes on Elbow Hill
A Stewart six wheel truck loaded with 450 Lee tires crashed on the Benjamin Franklin Highway at Devil's Elbow hill at 5:39 Tuesday evening. The truck en route from the Lee Tire Company plant in Conshohocken to Chicago lost control while descending a steep grade and overturned on the right side. The motor caught fire and while fire was put out, tires were removed from the wreck. The operator suffered a painful laceration to the left arm and general contusions. The truck was towed to the Dodge garage for repairs and continued its journey this morning.

Itinerant Laborer Robbed and Discarded From Freight Train
Merle Rhodes a 23 year old barber from Baltimore was found in bushes near a railroad by a policeman after claiming three negroes robbed him of clothes and money and threw him from a running freight train near Somerset. Sheriff Wagoner provided clothes and money. Rhodes continued to Baltimore stating he went to Johnstown for work only to find it filled and chose to ride the freight back home.

In Pittsburgh on August 12 the Royal Italian Consulate endured a blast believed to mark the first anti Fascist attack in the city. The porch was wrecked and the first floor damaged. No injuries were reported. Consul Dr. Giovanni Giurato was jolted from sleep. The Mussoili portrait survived though its frame was damaged. The consulate shield and nearby offices were destroyed. Adjacent residences also sustained damage.

Blonde taken for luring old gents in Ridgefield
Hiva Teresi Benson, a blonde described as a former cloak and Hollywood actress, was arraigned in Ridgefield town court for swindling elderly men by posing as a chicken expert. Charles W. Anderson of Scarsdale, N Y said he invested $1,900 in Benson’s chicken farm years ago. He reported the partner disappeared and Benson was arrested after returning to town.
