Neck fracture in water dive ends life of Peter Plant Jr
Peter Plant Jr 18 of Emeigh Run died at Spangler hospital after a diving accident at a Cherry Tree creek. Coroner Cyrus W. Davis said no inquest unless the district attorney requests it. Dr Fred W. St Clair would handle an inquest if needed. Plant, with friends, struck his head on a submerged rock diving from a spring board. He is survived by his parents and siblings. Jealousy tragedy on Lake Geneva ends in double tragedy
Viscount Jacques de Pourtale a 24 year old member of a wealthy Swiss branch of the French family was found shot in the head beside the dead body of his sweetheart Germain Ture in a rowboat on Lake Geneva. The woman claimed she fired first in a jealous fit and then killed herself. The viscount, reviving, said she shot him before taking her own life.

Fourth Robber of Bank Arrested
State police from the Washington substation of Troop A arrested Frank Gillingham 26 of Montour No 9 as the fourth member of the quartet behind the Smithton National Bank robbery on July 29 1931. After a yearlong chase from Daytona Beach Florida through Oklahoma and other states he was captured Tuesday night in Pittsburgh. Gillingham admitted his role and re enacted the crime in the cashier’s presence and that of other bank officers.

Setlock Hurt in Auto Collision Near Carlisle
Albert Cohick, a farmer and cattle dealer, was arrested as an alleged drunken driver two hours after the crash in Mechanicsburg Cumberland County. A truck driven by Cohick and a roadster driven by Stanley Setlock collided head on injuring five, including Setlock a Carlisle barracks soldier. Setlock suffered chest contusions and hand lacerations and received treatment at Carlisle Hospital. Cohick posted bail of 500 dollars after arrest.
