Gypsies Get Bail Release in Fraud Case Near Latrobe
Theodore and Ruby Stephens members of a Gypsy band were freed on bail after posting 1411.89 dollars for their September term appearance in Criminal Court to answer charges of blessing Mrs Bruno. They claimed innocence and said they were in Uniontown when the incident occurred. The couple had previously witnessed a similar charm payment of 1000 dollars. Fog from the Bering Sea forced Col and Mrs Charles Lindbergh to make a non scheduled stop in Kotzebue Sound during their New York to Tokio flight. They rested on the sound awaiting fog lifting and planned to proceed toward Nome. Residents in Nome celebrated, awaiting the famous couple's arrival.

Martha Jean Hosack six years old daughter of Hy Hosack and wife of 372 South Stewart Blairsville was seriously injured when struck by an automobile about 6:46 PM. She suffered a skull fracture and was taken to Homeopathic Hospital Pittsburgh after initial treatment by Dr J M Leonard. Witnesses say the car operator Homer City man drove the injured child to the physician’s office and residents exonerated the driver.

TROMSOE Norway August 11 UP After an auspicious start for Spitzbergen today Sir Hubert Wilkins polar submarine Nautilus faced new difficulties. Seven miles north of Thomsoe the Nautilus halted then covered about two kilometers before stopping again. Radio calls to shore went unanswered after the second halt. Wilkins remained optimistic about reaching the pole despite recent engine repairs and electric rudder work.

Damages Awarded for Dogs Killing Poultry in Center Township
Edward Miller, a well known Homer City poultryman, received 419 dollars for white leghorn chickens killed by two police dogs owned by Ray Rich of Coral. Blain Short, district representative of the Department of Animal Industry, said 255 chickens were killed on Miller's farm. This is the state's largest dog-caused chicken damage award in ten years. Short warned owners to keep dogs tied to avoid prosecution as dogs running at large pose danger.

Noted Honeymoon Crash Kills and Injures Prominent Family
G H Lewis of Johnstown Pennsylvania and his bride Doris Louise Dempsey a York Pennsylvania lumberman’s granddaughter suffered critical injuries in a highway collision eight miles north of Kingstree while en route to Florida for their honeymoon. Their companion Hart Ray Hunt was also badly hurt with a fractured skull. Mrs Pritchard of Charleston was injured as well as the crash damaged vehicles and flames. The couple reportedly wed a Cumberland Maryland last week and were en route to Charleston when the accident occurred.

Bride of a week found slain near Coverdale Pennsylvania
State Police and hundreds of citizens searched woods near Coverdale for 19 year old Elizabeth Valeri Hart bride of a week. Police believe she was slain by an admirer who killed himself after burying her in a Red Tile district woods. The suspect Joseph Snyder 28 invited her into the woods and died from a self inflicted wound.

Constable Walter Fetterhoff found his Chevrolet coach door chiseled and opened in front of the justice of the peace office after a Saturday night shopping trip.
