Tragic Western Ohio Limited Collision Near Shelby
Dayton Ohio August 11 Five persons are killed and eighteen injured in a head on collision between two Western Ohio company line limiteds from Sidney to Piqua and from Piqua to Sidney near Shelby City infirmary. Motorman Wm Bailey and several others die. many injured rushed to Sidney clinic. Officials blame high speed and remote location for delays in care.

Daring Lad Rescued From 400 Foot Cliff Peril
Irving Ding, aged fifteen, son of A. F. Ding of Springfield, Illinois, was rescued after spending the day on a 750 foot high cliff above the sea at Avalon. He wandered near the top when a search party found a path fifty feet down from the summit and a rope lowered to pull him up. The youth, shaken but uninjured, was drawn to the cliff top after the perilous ascent.
