Indiana Business and Professional Women assist at Roundup Carnival for Torrance State Hospital patients on August 6. Volunteers from Latrobe Derry Blairsville Indiana run booths and prize tables as 3000 patients enjoy food and a horse show in a western themed event.

Blairsville Girl Weds Latrobe Man in Presbyterian Chapel

Kathryn Stevenson and Jacob William Smith united in Blairsville with Rev. Lee E. Schaeffer officiating. The ceremony featured fern and floral decor, music by Mrs. Rupert, and a white orchid bouquet. Bride is daughter of Allen and Kathryn Stevenson. groom is son of Eward and Mrs. Smith of Latrobe. The couple's reception followed. honeymoon at Lake Erie. Mrs. Smith works as a nurse. Mr. Smith serves in the armed forces at Fort Bragg.

Ambitious New Jersey Mom Delivers Triplets At Last

EAST ORANGE, N J AP Mrs Probyn Thompson Jr had long sought five children and after eight years of marriage she achieved the goal over the weekend by delivering triplets. Her husband joked about more children but she quipped he chickened out The story also notes a hand crank food slicer useful for entertaining with adjustable slice thickness from ultra thin to half inch.

Heilwood Rosary Society Picnic Plans Announced

The Rosary Society of St John the Baptist Church Heilwood met at the Legion Home on August 4 with nine members present. Natalie Stupie presided as president, reports were read, and Mary Sloane was named chaplain. A picnic at Krevil farm on August 16 was planned and Kate Gance and Theresa Miller were named September hostesses for the Legion Home meeting on the third of the month at 8 p.m.

Ladies Social Club Meeting at Waterman Hostess Framed

Frances Zelensky hosted the Ladies Social Club at her Waterman home on July 27. President Hazel Glance led the business session with games played afterward. Prizes went to Edna Fletcher first Ruby Fletcher second Justine Fairman third. Margaret Thomas won the consolation prize and Justine Fairman drew the traveling pig. The next meeting is August 10 at Florence Kraus's home.

The topic Have Bible Will Read was discussed by Grace Lockard Maxina Conner Elda Kantz Dollie Pennington Alice Cessna Mrs. Crook Mrs. Cramer and Hazel Ryan. The devotions closed with two hymns. Mrs. Patrick absent, Mrs. Kantz led business. Minutes read by Mrs. Crook. Mrs. Crook and Mrs. Conner to mail old hosiery to missionaries. September meeting will be Welcome Back reunion in Gipsy Community Building with covered dish lunch. Mary Spicher and Margaret Conner program chairmen. Officers elected in October. Mrs. Kantz reported on Sunday School Workshop. Meeting closed with The Lord’s Prayer. During social hour Birthday songs for August birthdays. Secret Sister gifts given. Bible quizzes led by Mrs. Inez Smith. Lunch served by hostess to 22 members.

Elders Ridge Class of 1939 Holds 20th Reunion

Elders Ridge High School’s class of 1939 celebrated its 20th reunion at the Eagles Home in Indiana on July 25. Twenty four classmates attended as Henry Ghezzi served as master of ceremonies and awards were presented for longest travel, most children, youngest child, and most hair lost. A center piece and memorial garland honored deceased member Pete Martini, with donations from James I. Shearer and dining favors for all attendees.
