Rev J R Zeigler of School Street plans to return to Indiana tomorrow and resume pulpit duties at First Presbyterian Church. Clark Griffith manager of the Washington Americans heads the Bat and Ball fund to send baseball paraphernalia to American troops in the trenches. He ordered 100 copies of The Sporting News to General Pershing in France to supply soldiers with baseball news. Previously five hundred copies weekly have been sent to Harry Kingman in Paris by J G Taylor Spink.
British troops completed the capture of the village of Westhoeke and secured the Westhoeke Ridge in a forward rush last night. The War Office announced progress as French forces advance east of Bixschoote and north of that town.
