Washington The National Mediation Board asked railroad workers to delay a strike that could shut Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp Pittsburgh plant. Eugene Thompson said he awaits a reply from the Brotherhood for Railroad Trainmen in Cleveland Ohio. Union members set a 7 am Wednesday strike against Monongahela Connecting Railroad over a contract dispute.
