Steam Boilers to Be Inspected in Pennsylvania

Harrisburg Aug 9 all steam boilers and appurtenances in Pennsylvania carrying pressure above 15 psi will be thoroughly inspected annually under operating conditions. Exemptions include locomotives boilers automobiles and temporary fire engines. Boilers under 15 psi require approved safety devices. The Boiler Code applies to contracts made after July 1 1916 and to those delivered after January 1 1917. Inspectors must pass exams and may be revoked with appeal to the Industrial Board. Regular examiner trips occur four times yearly and notices run 14 days prior to inspection dates.
