Mrs Charis Lehman of Greensburg dies after illness at 45. widow of Coarlea Lehman, eight children, funeral Friday from home with final rest at St Clair cemetery Beaver Wallace Blaine, Verona Civil War veteran and oil region contractor, dies. wife and one of his children, Mrs Edward Packer of Saltsburg, survive. Mrs William Hesselgeyser of Saltsburg dies August 3. native of Conantville Armstrong County. grove City Hospital death.
In Turtle Creek Misa Carrie J Sturgeon wed Prof Pallip G C Kahl at her mother Parmelia Stur op home with Rev B E Campbell officiating. Attendants Miss Cora Camp pill and Frank Sturgeon. The bride, Indiana Normal graduate and former Armstrong County teacher, and the groom, Missouri University graduate and former mechanical engineer at the Washington plant, will reside in Arkansas. Also, John Gillman and Dessie Tru al married in Kittanning with Rev Albert Thomas officiating, wedding dinner included. couple resides in Kittanning. An Armstrong County lawyer, James Anderson of Ford City, endorses a herbal rheumatism cure in a letter of thanks.
A town council introduced a resolution to refund a noted expense and concurred with a prior veto in Wilson's New Home. The discussion references Am. Fey and Johostown with payments and dates tied to a controversial landlord issue.
Johnstown resident Franke Haws of Somerset Street files for divorce from Florence Gertrude Eatep Haws through attorney F. P. Martin. Haws alleges wife is the respondent, cites destitution from alleged abuse. He values real estate at 10 000 with annual income between 3 000 and 10 000. Wife requests support of 1 000 during the suit to cover needs and legal fees.

Buchanan and Bennett are distributing their fifth carload of watermelons this season to area stores. Each shipment improves in quality. Prices range from two to nine cents per pound with the next grocery order from any local store.
Judge Telford will hold a naturalization court on August 10 at 10 a.m. This is the last opportunity for applicants to secure their final papers before the November election.

An immense German airship crashes near Echterdingen after a violent wind gust, destroying the craft and injuring four engineers. Count Zeppelin, heartbroken, travels to Friedrichshafen. Germany approves a $125,000 grant for further aeronautic experiments as the crowd of 40,000 gawkers witnesses the wreck.
Passaic New Jersey public schools will continue to teach fairy tales despite opposition from school trustees Harry A. Hettema and John Adama. At a school board meeting the two members failed in an effort to remove fairy tale texts, including Hans Christian Andersen and Mother Goose. They argued funds should go toward history or practical subjects.
In Chicago on August 6 an advertisement for a $500 loan to save a man from death by his own action raised $250. Two donors contributed with hopes others would add the remaining $250. The man faced a deadline, his wife and eldest child beside him in a minister's office as they waited for aid. He asks for $50 more to avoid suicide, promising repayment at $5 weekly.
National Progressive Woman Suffrage union members staged protests in Oyster Bay. Four women spread leaflets and displayed a Votes for Women banner but rain dampened turnout. A planned evening meeting near the grocery failed as no Oyster Bay women appeared and Mrs. Wells canceled the event after Roosevelt did not meet with the group.
