The Mexican government announced that President Calles abruptly rejected mediation efforts offered by Peruvian President Leguia. Calles argued the constitution is a fundamental law not subject to special mediation and accused provocations by those causing invasions and unrest.
A flood of new arrests in the All-Mills case unfolds as Mrs. Jane Gibson known as Pig Woman allegedly places witnesses at the Phillips farm. Lena Simpson is named by a witness as seeing a man and woman who witnessed the murders. Senator Simpson predicts the case may be finished if the testimony proves true.
The deceased Horsica died under unclear circumstances after reportedly wading into a river near the swinging bridge. He left money for his children and is survived by a widow and six youngsters. Workmates described him as a diligent National Plate Glass employee who had lived in Blairsville thirteen years. Neighbors note his wife returned recently with two children after a year apart.
In Warren Pennsylvania a conference between Northern Pennsylvania lumber and furniture firms and state boards recommends changes to the state code governing logging and allied industries. Participants include Mrs. Samuel Semple, J M Dickinson, A R Snyder and A R McCoy with officials to present proposals to Richard R. Lansbury, State Secretary of Labor and Industry.

He has covered about ten thousand miles, cares for his dog Teddy stolen in Johns town, and requests mail forwarding notices while officials aid the search.
Central Pennsylvania event honors Hugh Brady pioneer lineage with a granite memorial at Middle Spring Church Yard Cumberland County. A descendant reunion and memorial dedication August 20 precede travel from Shippensburg to nearby sites with arranged rail and road transport plus a special Lex wi centennial ticket option.
Rev. Barry Paugh of Echo Pa has accepted a call to Homer City Presbyterian Church and will begin work October 1. The church has been without a minister since February 1. Also notes on local visits, a baby born to Lisle Kunkle, a death in Graceton, and residents moving or ill in the community. Local gatherings include a Starry reunion in Jeannette and kin updates.
The Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of Indiana Jefferson and nearby counties plan an annual picnic on August 12 at Marion Center Community Park. Grand Master Hon John Marks will speak. Marion Center Cornet Band will perform. A full program includes two ball games merry go round tug of war fiddlers and horse shoes with refreshments on the grounds. Members and the public are invited to bring baskets and attend.
In Indiana County Pennsylvania a notice dated August 2 1926 announces that Benjamin K Kelier petitions that a mortgage on two lots in Indiana Borough described as lots 51 and 52 on Sutton Street be satisfied. The mortgage to Dybre Thomas or successors dates December 1874 for 47 dollars, with 21 years elapsed and no payments. The court requires Dybre Thomas or holders to appear October 4 1936 or face advertisement and proper decree. J M Malcoly.
