Fidel Will Come Back Says Raul at Havana Meeting

Raul Castro rallied delegates at a midnight Latin American Youth Congress session in Havana denying Fidel Castro’s illness or replacement. He claimed Fidel is resting well and will return stronger, taunting critics and warning new anti American laws may be crafted. Raul praised Khrushchev and the Soviet Union while denouncing the United States, framing the Cuban revolution as regional.

X15 Sets New World Speed Mark

Edwards Air Force Base California reports the X15 rocket plane piloted by Joe Walker hit 2150 mph, breaking the prior record set by Milburn Apt in 1956. The flight from 45,000 feet to 78,000 feet achieved the speed during a four minute burn, with landing at Rogers Dry Lake. Walker, 39, has completed three X15 flights for NASA and North American Aviation. The speed record surpasses conventional jets at 1525 mph set by Major Joseph Rogers in 1956.

State Police from Indiana report a 7:30 am Route 119 crash near Black Lick School injures two drivers. George C. Hill 68 Blairsville RD2 and Samuel W. Dog Feud Ends In Man's Death

CHICAGO AP Milton Klinka 67 and Richard Reynolds 21 quarreled over Klinka s dog. They met in a North Side apartment building. Klinka claimed Reynolds taunted him then urged him to shoot. Klinka fired killing Reynolds. he is held without charge.

Tragedy in Copake: Mother Kills Three Children

In Copake New York a mother Theresa Vucetec 30 used an eight inch butcher knife to kill three children aged between 7 weeks and 7 years before wounding herself. The victims Linda 7 adopted and Steven Omantha Zoran 7 weeks. The family, once from Austria, lived in New Rochelle before buying Linden Farm. Police report the mother remains in critical condition at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson. The husband said marital difficulties preceded the tragedy and that his wife had become moody recently.

Savings & Trust Bank to open parking lot window service

The Savings & Trust Company of Indiana announces a new parking lot window service at the rear of its bank building, beginning Friday August 6. New Dairy Item Price Set By Pa

Pennsylvania will sell a new low butterfat dairy product in the Pittsburgh area starting August 10 after final approval by the State Milk Control Commission. Price points include 43 cents per half gallon in stores, 45 cents if vitamins A and D are added, with April through July reductions to 41 and 43 cents respectively. Home delivery adds three cents per half gallon. The product’s butterfat ranges 1.73 to 2.25 percent. Each carton must bear the label low fat milk product. A special low fat meeting is scheduled for August 6.
