Grace Grace Plane Missing Near Canal Zone

Eleven passengers and three crew members aboard the Pan American Grace airliner were reported missing in the Canal Zone. Among the passengers were two Department of Commerce officials from Washington, a National City Bank of New York representative, and a Ford Major Company employee. The flight had left Lima and was 24 hours behind schedule after an overnight layover in Guayaquil.

Blairsville Barn Burned on Former Property Lot

A small blaze last night destroyed a Blairsville stable on land formerly the George Van Warner property, now owned by the Home Owners' Loan Corporation. The fire occurred around 10 o clock and was put out by the Blairsville Fire Department, preventing total collapse. Damages were not great given the building’s age, but the structure will be torn down per firemen.

Eddie Duchin's Wife Passes On

Mrs. Eddie Duchin, wife of the orchestra leader, died today at 6 20 a m in Harbor Sanitarium after a birth complications. Duchin was at her bedside when she died having flown in from Chicago. The couple married June 5 1934 and their newborn son weighed nine pounds at birth and is reported healthy.
