In Beirut a rebel leader Saeb Salam met with president elect Fuad Shehab behind a heavy security cordon in the Basta Moslem quarter for the first time since the revolt began. Penn Run Woman Found Dead in Reservoir
The body of Mrs. Ethel Agnes Shank Paul, 47, of Penn Run, was found this morning in a small reservoir on the old Paul farm near Ewing's Mill off Route 422. Officials report death by drowning and that the death occurred Thursday morning. A complete obituary is in today's Gazette. Pacific light plane record completes 6979 mile flight
Marion Boling, a 43 year old veteran flier from Palo Alto, completed a 6979 mile nonstop Pacific crossing in a Beechcraft Bonanza. The flight began in Manila and ended in Pendleton, Oregon after 45 hours 42 minutes, breaking the prior light plane record set in 1949 by Bill Odom. Boling described the journey as the toughest thing he has done, fought fuel and dizziness, and said he might not relive those hours but will always recall the experience as the best 48 hours of his life.
