War Risk Bureau to cease allotment and family allowances after July 31 1921. From Nov 1, 1917 to June 30, 1921 the bureau mailed 1 487 503 checks totaling 601 092 802 87 dollars. Payments after August 1 1821 will be voluntary under future regulations. no further family allowances.
London August 4 Premier Lloyd George told the House of Commons that both Poland and Germany would receive a straight deal in Upper Silesian settlements. He said satisfactory arrangements were made for the Inter Allied Supreme Council to meet in Paris. The first agenda item would be sending Allied reinforcements into the plebiscite area pending adjudication.
Sylvester MecParland now residing in Clymer and serving as assistant cashier at Clymer National Bank purchased an Essex automobile recently from Marcus Bros. The transfer confirms MecParland as the new owner.

Miss Caroline Shoemaker, daughter of Dee OS Shoemaker of Day Win, visits Miss Grace Walker of North Ficch creer.
Twenty four persons were baptized by immersion during evangelistic services conducted at Strongstown by Rev. F W Henry of Indiana yesterday afternoon. The meetings will continue through midweek and likely longer as the revival progresses.
Friends of Davi Snyder of this place learn he has been cured of mouth cancer after a year of affliction caused by irritated false teeth. The cure resulted from radium and X rays administered by Dr. T. V. Williams of New Castle, per the Punxsutawney Spirit.
