Noted Aviator Farman Demonstrates Powerful Air Propeller Flight
At Brighton Beach a giant heavier than air machine built by Meary Farman tore down the runway and rose 25 feet before skimming at express train speed. Spectators watched the motor power produce a cyclone breeze as the craft flew 240 yards then rose again and traveled 850 yards. Photographers were knocked aside as the plane thundered by and sped along the plank roadway before lifting into the night sky for several hundred yards more.
