Pittsburgh, April 29. The Pittsburgh Board of Education sought and gained court permission to seize two properties valued at over $190,000 to cover delinquent taxes and penalties. The action, first of its kind by the board, could extend to eight more owners. Rents from the seized properties will be collected to satisfy state and city taxes, penalties, and the board’s own taxes. The two properties include a lot leased by Bennett Brothers Realty Corp and a garage and auto wrecking business operated by the brothers. Total anticipated recovery around $25,900. Earlier city tax seizures included the Keystone Hotel, later placed in receivership.
