An 84 year old Indiana woman and a 28 year old Marion Center woman died in separate accidents yesterday afternoon and last night. Nancy Wissinger Wolford of South Tenth street was struck by Herman Ricupero on Philadelphia Street before the M G A building and died at Indiana Hospital. Daisy Bush of Marion Center died after her car overturn near Woodlawn Park. coroner cites abdominal hemorrhages. Inquests scheduled for 2 PM today in the municipal building.

State Trooper John Mehallick of the Clearfield detachment was released from county jail on a 15000 dollar bail after a habeas corpus hearing. The murder charge stems from the death of Wilbur Vite, 42, near McGees Mills, shot in Glen Campbell last Saturday. He left with Hope Lewis and her father, Dr B Lewis, after the hearing. Witness James Pennington testified he and Vite were driving behind the trooper’s car toward Glen Campbell.

Seward Alaska April 27 INS reports new activity in the Alaskan volcanic range may have caused the earthquake that rocked Seward Anchorage Cordova Dutch Harbor and other towns at 4 50 PM yesterday. The quake lasted about two minutes and eyewitnesses said it tossed Seward like a boat on rough seas. Damage was limited to broken glass and toppled goods in Seward with no injuries reported. In Anchorage many plate glass windows shattered and plaster ripped from walls and ceilings.
