Federal plan limits relief funds for Pennsylvania
Governor George H. Earle warned that Pennsylvania may not receive much of the $4.89 billion federal works fund due to constitutional borrowing limits. He said funds for non highway projects could be loans, forcing repayment within two years, which his state cannot guarantee under its bar law. The remarks were made at an Intercollegiate Conference on Government meeting in Harrisburg.

Fall Fatal at Millwood Man’s Staircase Incident
John Micklow a 60 year old resident of House 19 Leger Works Millwood near Blairsville died after a fall on the stairs. His sons, thinking he was only slightly injured, carried him back to bed, and hours later found him dead upon checking. An assistant coroner and a Derry physician investigated the accident.

Harrisburg April 26 A new kidnap law places jurisdiction for trial in counties through which victims are taken while held captive. Gov Earle signed the bill extending court reach to snatch racket cases and joined other measures including banking law amendments to allow preferred stock in capital. PUNXSUTAWNEY April 26 INS M Clyde Kelly former congressman and Braddock newspaper publisher who was shot when his rifle accidentally discharged last Monday night worsened today at Adrian Hospital. He lay semi conscious in critical condition with a bullet wound below the abdomen passing into the lung. He had been slowly recovering but slept poorly and his strength declined. Opiates used for pain relief as telegrams from congressional colleagues and friends pour in. Dr Guy M Musser said no pneumonia indications.

Large trees destroyed to halt flames near campers
Members of the C C camp moved from South Park Pittsburgh last week and answered an emergency call to stop a forest fire one mile north of the camp. Captain Wharry and Lieutenant Kelly led about sixty men with shovels and rakes. They worked about an hour and a half, cutting down several large trees to control the blaze started by brush. The camp, scheduled to finish Wednesday, had not completed all equipment segregation yet but the men performed well amid the fire fight.
Akron seeks links in major mail robberies
Akron officials and federal agents pursue a possible connection between the $100,000 Warren mail truck robbery and a $50,000 Butler job from August 1934. Inspector Kelly and Patrolman Jas say the Warren heist resembles the Butler holdup, with three men fleeing with cash and negotiable paper. Meanwhile a United States pouch worth over $50,000 in bonds was found in Portage Lake tied to the same case as divers search the lake shore for more clues.
