Speed Says Wreck Was Caused By Excessive Train Speed
Washington April 22 The Interstate Commerce Commission attributed the Reading Railroad derailment near Sunbury Pa January 30 which killed three and injured 30 to excessive speed on a sharp curve. With both engineers killed the report could not determine why the speed wasn t properly controlled. It noted the speed was reduced on the curve suggesting unusual engine cab conditions and said the engineer was not in alarming health but capable.
