Chairman Tudislative Weldon Heyburn and a joint committee will gather facts from farmers and dairy interests amid calls to simplify rules. Funeral services set for Smicksburg resident

Burgh and Clair Dinger of Smicksburg R D Funeral services will be conducted in the Johnston home at 1 PM Friday. The Rev Irvin D Swinehart of the Wesleyan Methodist Church will officiate and interment will be in Churchville Cemetery near New Bethlehem. Mrs Caroline Mornich 80 died Sunday at her son Edward Mornich’s home in Crows Nest Westmoreland County. Her husband and three sons preceded her in death. Surviving are daughters, sons, and in laws. Mrs Malissa M Fleming 69 died at home in Wilkinsburg after long Indiana residence. She was a daughter of Charles and Margaret Johnston. Survived by one brother William Johnston. Body taken to Robinson Funeral Home for Friday services. full obituary to be published tomorrow.

Nine Indiana Countians joined eighty fire chiefs and representatives from south central Pennsylvania at a Cresson conference to plan training. Three Injured in Picket Clash at Pittsburgh Steel Foundry

In Glasport, three workers were injured during a confrontation with union pickets at the gates of the Pittsburgh Steel Foundry Corporation. The yard had halted operations since March 2 after employees rejected a proposed 16 percent wage cut. Lee Werner, 30, received care for rib and back injuries and bruises at a McKeesport hospital. His father, F. A. Werner, the plant's chief engineer, and his uncle, P. L. Werner, a plant supervisor, were also hurt.

Firefighters said the bakery caused the blaze while a barber shop sparked another flame. Firefighters hoped to salvage $500000 worth of French art objects. The Paris, carrying 3200 passengers, sank after listing heavily and breaking free from moorings. Officials fear salvaging the ship will disrupt the port and drydock work.
