Horse runs runaway as buggy is overturned in Uniontown
Uniontown April 18 INS Some of these newfangled motor vehicles frighten Stanley Bartosh's horse driving his buggy. The 23 year old Vestaburg resident was recovering from injuries when the horse bolted into a field, overturning the buggy and pinning the driver beneath it. The horse, proud to be the first in a long time to make a runaway, was not hurt.

A 1819 brick landmark known as the McAnulty Tavern building suffered a major blaze beginning shortly after 1 45 a m. The Blairsville Laundry plant at 214 West Market Street burned and fire spread to 212 West Market Street garage and service station and to the Libengood and Sandone family apartments. Estimated loss set at 90000 dollars. Firemen said origin was on the second floor of the laundry plant in the west side of the old tavern building. Back to jail for safe-toter Penrod in Rockwood case
George Penrod 25 of South Fork was sentenced to three to six years in the Western Penitentiary for larceny of an auto and breaking and entering in the American Store robbery at Rockwood. He had aided Roy Mickey in loading a 500 pound safe onto a stolen car, then fled. He previously served a term at Allegheny Workhouse for parole violation and was arrested later at the B&O station in Rockwood.
