Engineer's Body Found in Reading Express Wreck
The body of Engineer George Rockstasher of Reading was recovered after the Reading express known as the Queen of the Valley wrecked at Harrisburg. Fireman Leland Winand of Harrisburg was killed. injuries included Charles Jones Johnstown Mrs Booser Harrisburg Robert Mather Lebanon and D M Rhoads baggage master. The crash occurred as air brakes failed and rigging fouled a switch causing the engine and tender to overturn. three of seven cars were thrown across four tracks.

Unknown robber killed in running gun battle in Galion
Policeman Rupensberger engaged three robbers looting a freight car near Galion Ohio on April 6. An unidentified robber was killed as the officer opened fire to halt the escape. The other two robbers fled, carrying their comrade a short distance before escaping.
