Ebensburg County Fair to feature major entertainment lineup

Ebensburg April 15. Entertainment for all ages, with a July fourth program, being added to the Cambria County Industrial Exposition. The fair runs July 1 to July 4 under Cambria County Fair Association auspices. The board directed officers to secure top circus acts and other attractions. Blair Seeds, president, negotiates with a leading circus organization for an extraordinary amusements card.

Legislative League Advances In Harrisburg

In Harrisburg on April 15 the permanent organization of the House Legislative League was established. Representative Williams Tioga, longtime chair since 1919, was elected permanent chairman. Other officers include North Chester and Morrison Erie as vice chairmen, Wood Warren as treasurer, and Moore Washington as secretary.

Senate to elect president pro tem in 1926 session

In Harrisburg on April 15 the Senate Republican caucus will decide between Samuel W. Salus of Philadelphia and Horace W. Schantz of Allentown for the president pro tem role during the recess, a move that would set the stage for the 1927 session. TheHouse elects at the start of a session, not after.

British Rum Runner Taken After 12 Hour Chase

New York April 15. Two shots across the bow halted the British auxiliary schooner Madeline Adams 100 miles offshore by Coast Guard cutter Seminole after a 12 hour chase and she was towed to port. Revenue men say the seizure uncovers a bribery plot to land 500 cases of liquor valued at 460000 dollars. The commander is charged with offering bribes to V G 203 crewmen to secure the liquor transfer off Long Island near Montauk Point. Several coast guard members were arrested at Greenport and are now federal prisoners in New London Connecticut.
