Experts Differ In Case Involving Berwind-White Coal

Anna Gelles of Windber is a widow involved in the review petition by Thomas Beattle of Seward, a miner claiming partial disability and foot loss, with a prior 150 weeks compensation. Beattle alleges a meter and cars struck him in a Shelter hole at Seward mine. Alex Melnichik of Jenners sues Diamond Smokeless Coal for an eye injury from mine sulfur at a Bolitz, Indiana County mine on August 30, 1928, seeking six weeks total disability. Dr L M Gurley testified for the defendant, noting Melnichik sought treatment three weeks after the accident and could resume work.
