Ebensburg Fire Destroys Central Cambria Drilling Co Building
Fire of undetermined origin destroyed the Central Cambria Drilling Co structure in Ebensburg at about 5 a.m. The workshop area triggered the blaze, destroying the building and contents. Glen Williams of Ebensburg owned the site. Fire personnel remained on scene until 6:25 a.m. to investigate.

Governor Bill Clements toured the stricken area by helicopter and projected aid. Senator John Tower commented on the disaster.
