Senator Aldrich predicts many articles will be placed on the free list and duty reductions will occur. No early hope for free lumber or hides. Payne rates on China expected to stand. The Payne tariff bill, amended by the senate committee on rates, was presented to the full committee at 10 this morning with efforts to secure a reported bill for a Thursday floor.
