Woman 18 Arrested in Kidnapping Case in Fall River
FALL RIVER Massachusetts April Py Arlene Underwood 18 who had planned to be married today appeared in district court and pleaded innocent to kidnapping in the January disappearance of a two and a half year old boy. Judge Benjamin Cook set bail at 3000. District Attorney Crossley said the arrest followed the boy being found in a New York foundling home where he had been placed after being found abandoned in a New York subway station. The defendant said she took the child to New York because she liked him and was forced to abandon him for lack of money.

J Phelan of the International Labor Office said delegates at the 26th regular session of the International Labor Conference will be urged to adopt a convention requiring Germany to settle social security payments for displaced workers who labored in Germany during the war.
