Betty Hamilton a 21 year old Meadville born actress, formerly of Chicago, leaped to her death from an eleventh story hotel room in New York after a troubled engagement with Fred Levy ended. Bud Pollard, her former director and manager, reported a prior suicide attempt and long-standing despair over love and career. Miss Hamilton survived a fall to a neighboring roof before dying en route to Marveline Hospital. authorities note she had recently moved under care of a nurse after leaving the American Women's Club.
