CHICAGO April 10 Mike The Greek Potson 64 of Encino California was convicted of evading 162164 in income taxes and sentenced to two years in prison. The government said much income came from gambling. Potson a former Chicago nightclub owner testified he won 9000 to 10000 in poker from Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, who testified for the government. Abbott said he lost 15000 in poker and gin rummy Costello reported losses between 20000 and 25000. Judge Philip L Sullivan denied a new trial motion and granted a stay until April 23.
