The private launching of the 348 foot Corsair IX yacht, Corvair IV, for financier Morgan of New York occurred at Hath Tron Works Bath Maine. Mrs George Nichols christened the 2.6 million dollar vessel with a champagne bottle, crowded quayside, and press aboard a nearby tug. The Corsair IX carries a 6000 horsepower electro turbine, two propellers, a speed of 16 knots, a 26 000 mile cruising radius, oil fuel, and is the fourth Morgan yacht to bear the family pennant.
