Everett Wilhelm, 67, former Creekside merchant, was sentenced today by Judge J N Langham to life imprisonment in the Western Penitentiary at Pittsburgh for the first degree murder and cremation of John Warden, 69, Creekside church official, last December 4. A 12 member jury deliberated eight hours, finding Wilhelm killed Warden after his arrest for disturbing a Creekside Methodist Episcopal Church meeting on November 27.

By removing a partition and replacing stock and materials the Hileman Garage and Service Station on North Seventh Street shows an entirely new appearance. The vulcanizing and repair departments have been moved to the rear with an entrance on Nixon alley. The front is now used for display only and interior repainting and redecorating enhance the building’s appearance.
Nearly four thousand people visited the new Green Vase Floral Shoppe at 467 Philadelphia Street last evening. The opening drew broad interest in beauty and goodwill as the business expands into a modern quarter. The shop’s energetic move strengthens Philadelphia street commerce.
The Indiana Textile Mills Co will restart operations Monday April 10 after a two week shutdown. Beegers start at 7 a.m., with footers and other workers returning as work in process accumulates. By week’s end the mill should operate near pre shutdown levels after adding picot attachments to some knitting machines.

In South Bend Indiana on April 8 physicians described the condition of R Charles T O'Donnell C C president of Notre Dame University as very grave. The throat infection confined him to St Josephs Hospital has subsided somewhat but the main danger now is bronchial pneumonia. Attending specialists stated the case.
John Robinson Householder aged 80, Burrell township farmer and bank director, died at his Coral home after a two year illness. Born September 4 1842 at Gray Station, he lived in Burrell since infancy and helped organize the old First National Bank of Black Lick, serving 30 years as a director and four as president. Survived by his widow Martha Pallison, six sons William Homer City Homer City, Robert Black Lick, John New Kensington, Archy Coral, and two others, three daughters, thirty six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral service Monday at 2 p.m. at the Lutheran Chapel of Coral led by Rev. Charles K. Held.
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad denied withdrawing over a million dollars in gold ten days before a state banking holiday. John J. Cornwell stated the withdrawals were for normal business such as payroll and interest, with most payments made by check and no hoarding intent.
The 15 month old daughter of John and Anna An stead of Nant y Gin died en route to a Johnstown hospital after swallowing kerosene. The parents said four cans of kerosene were in a kitchen corner and the infant drank about a quarter pint while the mother was briefly away.

An illustrated lecture on reforestation and conservation will be delivered by Frank T. Murphey extension forester at Penn State. The event occurs Monday evening April 10 at 8:00. Attendees may join 4-H Forestry Club and learn about the local program.
The stump blasting demonstration at the farm of S. R. Dible near Parkwood will be given Tuesday morning in April. Mr. W. Dever will demonstrate blasting stumps using a battery instead of a fuse. All interested in explosives for land clearing are invited to attend.

New York April 3. The Tom Mooney case may reach the U S Supreme Court depending on California new trials late this month. Frank P Walsh said he will defend Mooney at San Francisco trial starting April 26 and may appeal if acquitted and pardon is not granted.
